My little monkeys

Yesterday afternoon, we went to the zoo for the first time in a while.  We had planned to go over the Christmas holidays to see the lights but the weather was cold and wet every chance we had.  But, we are now into beautiful weather for spending time outside, so we decided to have a zoo day.

We asked Leighton what animals he wanted to see and he chose the monkeys (luckily we have a membership and can go anytime we please, so we can just go for a short time and see one or two animals on days when we don't have endless hours to spend there).

Both Leighton and Riley loved watching all the different primates eating and playing and grooming and drinking and sleeping.  It was the first time Riley has really stopped and watched the animals at the zoo - she is usually too busy being a little monkey herself!  And Leighton's attention span was impressively long, too.  So, we got to slowly meander through the area and then sit on a bench and relax for the majority of our time there.  It was lovely!

And here are my two little monkeys (yes, I know those aren't monkeys, but I am pretending they are!  Humor me.)!
