The kids have a full week off of school for Thanksgiving, so we took advantage of the chance to have another little Texas road trip! We went back to a couple places we've been before and went to some new places, too - another pic for our travel map!
Saturday morning we drove to San Antonio. This time we didn't stay downtown and didn't go to the Riverwalk at all. We stayed further out and had lunch at a restaurant we had seen on a TV show. The food was really good, and the weather was perfect for sitting outside on the patio.
After lunch we went to an outdoor shopping area - both of the kids sound something to buy, and there was a Harry Potter LEGO building activity at Barnes and Noble they participated in.
From there, we checked into the hotel and related for a while. In the evening, we drove out to Bulverde for the Tejas Rodeo and Steakhouse. Dinner was really good and the Rodeo was fun to watch. There was live music happening after the rodeo, but we were tired and it was late, so we went back to the hotel to go to sleep.
Sunday morning after breakfast, we started driving to Waco. We stopped in San Marcos for some outlet shopping and lunch and then in Round Rock for donuts. We had stopped for these donuts on our road trip a couple years ago. It was cool and rainy, so our plan to walk around the area near our hotel in Waco didn't happen. Instead we drove to the Dr Pepper Factory and then back to the hotel for a picnic dinner with some supplies we'd gathered at HEB.
