Pump up the jam
Pump it up
While your feet are stomping
And the jam is pumping
Look ahead, the crowd is jumpin'
Pump it up a little more
Get the party goin' on the dance floor
See, 'cause that's where the party's at and you'll find out if you do that
Did I just succeed at transporting you back to the 90s?!?!
Leighton was invited to two birthday parties last week, and coincidentally both were held at an inflatable party place called Pump it Up! I was singing that song in my head on the way there (Yup, I am old and can officially begin to embarrass my children!). I am kind of surprised that Roy didn't make some sort of joke about it and start singing it as well. Seems like something that he'd do!
Anyway, about the parties.
The party on Thursday was for one of our neighbors, Yuval, and he turned 4. They graciously offered for Riley to attend as well, so I took the kids on my own since Roy was at work. Leighton had a great time bouncing and climbing and sliding with the other kids, but Riley was shy and a little overwhelmed and just clung to my leg for the first half of the party. Eventually she noticed the steps on the slide and was sold! So, up we went (yes, we - I was in and out and up and down as well since she's too little to do it on her own). Leighton was so excited to have us bouncing and sliding and obstacling (yes, I just made that word up) with him. Since I was busy getting a workout and rug (slide) burn on my elbow, I wasn't able to take any photos, but Ronit (Yuval's mom) said they have a great one of us on the slide. If I get it, I will come back and post it here for you all to see! After playing, it was onto pizza and snacks and cake and ice cream. Both kids got a pirate goodie bag to bring home and were so excited to tell Daddy all about it.
The party on Saturday was for a different Riley, the son of one of Roy's coworkers. He turned 5. There were way more kids and way more adults at this party (and again Riley was encouraged to come as well), but since Riley had just been there, she came ready to play and wasn't shy at all. Roy came with us this time and got roped into playing with the kids too! When all the kids were standing quietly (and tuckered out from all the playing) in line to go into the party room, our two were jumping up and down screaching, "Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!" expecting it to be the same as the other party, but they were treated to some different snacks and cake instead. It was nice that the party was different even though it was at the same location.
Nice party shirt, Leighton. You are definitely Mr. Stylish.
ReplyDeleteHe was pretty excited to decide what two party shirts to wear for the parties! Riley, on the other hand, threw down the party dress I offered her on Thursday and told me she wanted the shirt she was already wearing!
