When we were living in England, a friend mentioned she was making Toad in the Hole for dinner and I thought it was the funniest name for a meal. She shared her recipe with me, but I never did make it. And I never ate it at a pub or restaurant, either. Maybe one day!
Until then, this will have to do:
I spotted this little guy when we were in Talia's yard on Wednesday. The kids had fun checking him out and I did my best to get a good photo for Leighton. I had to get pretty close, but it was too big to fit through the hole, so I felt safe that it wouldn't jump out at me!
In other critter news, our resident opossum is still hanging about. And I think it is responsible for the complete lack of carrots, beets, watermelon, pumpkin, and butternut squash plants in the garden. Grrrrr. But, it was hanging out under the BBQ the other night, so I managed to get a picture of the face. Unfortunately it was dark and through the glass doors and I was avoiding a flash, but it's still a better picture than the one Roy had to offer previously, right?!?!
And Roy saw this picture on Leighton's computer the other day and mentioned we hadn't shown it to him yet. So, I will share with you, too. This is some sort of little lizard we saw on the road one day a couple months ago.
We are seeing many, many little baby lizards/chameleons lately. I haven't gotten a photo yet because they dash away too quickly, but I can say that I think they are pretty cute.
And this little frog was cute, too. I know I shared a picture of it before, but it's just so teeny and cute so I thought I'd include it again!
