Grandma and Papa come to visit

We were very happy to have my parents here to visit this month, and we did a lot of really fun things together.  Some of these pictures are from my camera and some are from my mom's.

Playing at home:

Lunch at Niko Niko's
My parents had seen an episode of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives that featured this restaurant a couple years ago, so we went to try it out.

Aquarium
We had gone when we first moved to Houston but had never taken Grandma and Papa.  We saw the fishies, did the shark train ride, the carousel, and the kids were brave enough to try one of the rides.  But they wanted me to go on it with them.  Carnival rides are not really my idea of a wonderful time, but I figured it was a kid ride so I could handle it!  Leighton LOVED it.  Riley did at first.  Then …. not so much.  Poor girl.  The ride operator stopped it for us for her to get off though.  And then Leighton and I rode again.  And again.  And Leighton rode a couple times later by himself, too.  Grandma and Papa rode the ferris wheel, and then I took another one for the team and went on it with Leighton and my mom.  Riley had no interest in attempting another big, high ride!  And her Daddy was pleased to sit that one out with her ;)

The 'Big Bubble'
I had read an article about some fun and different things to do around the city, and on the list was going to press this button that creates a big bubble in the bayou.  We all took a turn!

Bowling
Please take a moment to look at the screens to see the scores for both games we played.  You might see that a certain someone won BOTH times!

Taking Riley to her open gymnastics time:

Leighton's first soccer practice of the season:

A rainy day at the Rodeo:

Adickes Sculpturworx
A friend had taken some visitors here and I thought it would be something interesting and different to do.

Houston Rockets game
Grandma and Papa treated our little Mr basketball fanatic and the rest of us to a game!  There was a little kid zone area that was really entertaining for the kids and both kids did so well sitting through the whole game late at night.

Zoo and Hermann Park:
Pictures are all on my mom's camera …. hopefully I can get some to add here soon!!!

  1. Such a wonderful, fun-filled visit. We loved every minute.

I had to laugh that the photos you chose are the same ones I picked out (for the most part) as being my favorites.

The photos from zoo day are on their way to you (memory stick in a bubble mailer).
