After all of the strange winter weather we had here, we finally had some lovely weather in February, and we took full advantage of it by being outside as much as we could be.
The kids were really excited to play at home with all their outside toys and dunked their heads into the water in the play sink! I had some more cute photos that were lost on my phone, and there were some of Leighton climbing a tree for the first time as well. I am really sad about losing those ones.
We also had some fun play dates at friends' houses. We were at Kim, Chris, Kai & Koli's with lots of friends on the Wednesday half day in February. The kids LOVED their zipline (again, video of Leighton on it has been lost - boo), the easel outside, the basketball hoop, and everything else inside. I was surprised I ever convinced them to come home!!
A couple days later we played at Samantha & Ava's, and Kate & the girls and Anne & the kids came over, too. A lot of princess dresses were put on, and they made it outside to the trampoline!
The kids and I met up with Amy, Jesus, Jonas & Max at the zoo one Saturday. We had fun wandering around and seeing the new baby elephant and giraffe.
After leaving the zoo, we headed over to the Stickwork art installation in Hermann Park. The kids LOVED running through there, but it was incredibly wet and muddy and Leighton fell down. Good thing it was SO hot out so the mud dried off of him relatively quickly.
Any sent me a couple pics of the kids running that are so funny!
We had denied the kids' requests for ice cream the entire time at the zoo, so decided to take them to a favorite place of Amy & Jesus and the kids for a treat. Roy had just arrived back from his retreat out of town, so we picked him up to join us. It took some convincing but eventually Riley would actually eat her vanilla even though it was Mexican vanilla and orange!

i would love a full size copy of the one of riley and leighton in the tree please! gorgeous :)

DeleteLooks like lots of fun on all occasions. I am amazed that there was a whole wardrobe of princess dresses available...might have to put that on my "sew for Riley" list.
ReplyDeleteHaving lots of princess dresses to wear is a definite bonus for play dates!!!
