We had a fun week of little celebrations.
First, I made cookies for her class on the 22nd (the kids were out of school for 'Fall Holiday' on the 23rd this year). She had decided on a ballet theme, and I showed her a few ideas on Pinterest and she chose these cookies for me to make.
Then on the 23rd, Riley woke up and got to open her presents and spend the day at home playing with them. This was so much nicer than the usual routine of waiting until after school when there is time to open them but then not enough time to play because dinner and bath and bedtime comes so fast. There was a lot of pink, Barbie, and Frozen with a little My Little Pony thrown in for good measure!
| please note that Barbie is driving. Ken does not drive this car ;) |
In the afternoon, we went to her best friend (and birthday twin) Zain's birthday party.
For dinner we had Riley's request of pass-getti and corn on the cob. And I had made her a cake - also ballet themed.
On the 24th in the afternoon, Riley and Zain had a special little birthday play date at the playground because Zain wasn't going to be coming to Riley's party.
On the 26th, Riley had her party. It was a dress up, hair and makeup, and walk down the runway party.
The cupcakes were supplied as part of the party package, so I just made some toppers to add to them. I also made some dress up cookies to add to the party favor boxes.
After the party, we came home and Riley opened her gifts from her friends.
