First we had breakfast (with Barbie, of course) ...
And then it was time for the beach.
Roy and Leighton did some more snorkeling.
Riley was freaking out (to put it mildly) about the seaweed at the beach the day before, so we switched to the one beside it that was even more of a bay, so it had less seaweed (but also sandier/cloudier water) and she was much more relaxed.
We saw the cute little kittens again. But one got stuck upside-down, and the mommy seemed to think we were responsible for the cries, so gave them so space before she got too mad!
At lunch, our server introduced Leighton to his new favorite thing in the world: The Spongebob. It is a mix of pina colada, strawberry daiquiri, and orange Fanta!
In the afternoon, we spent some time in the pool. Barbie joined us after spending the morning hiding from the sand at the beach.
Our dinner was at the gourmet a la carte. Both kids enjoyed trying their food and the pretty way things looked. They LOVED the show of the flambeed bananas!
After dinner, we went to the kids' pool party in the evening for a bit, but it was only a game of hot potato/pass the parcel so the kids weren't keen to get involved.
Day 4
The next morning there were fresh churros being made. SO delicious!
and more mimosas for mommy and daddy (and photobombing for Riley!)!
There was lots of football, sand burying, and rum for mommy at the beach in the morning!
We watched a wedding, too.
And the mommy kitty thought Leighton might share his chips with her!
We were at the pool again in the afternoon. Leighton spent most of the time playing soccer with a group of boys and men. And Riley went to the giant chess set when she saw the bride and flower girl there, and ended up partnering with the flower girl's dad for a game!
Our dinner was at the Japanese a la carte, and we had a seat at one of the special tables to watch the chef cook and put on a show for you. We sat with a couple from Calgary and a family from NYC. It was fun to compare stories with them since we've lived in both places! The kids really enjoy the show that the chef put on, and they were really good about tasting all the different food. Leighton really enjoyed the tempura vegetables and Riley liked the miso soup a lot. They loved using their chopsticks (so did Barbie!)!
That night was a kids' dance party in the night club. Leighton was shy to dance, but happily watched soccer on the TVs in there. Riley had fun dancing!
And she tired herself out - she fell asleep on my lap during the later entertainment, which was the Michael Jackson show. The show started really late, but it was really good! Leighton is now a big fan and any time there is a Michael Jackson song on the radio, he asks for it to be turned up. He likes comparing how different his voice sounds in different songs.
Day 5
Leighton had really wanted to play basketball in the pool, but it was always really busy in the afternoons when we were there, so we took the kids for a pre-breakfast swim while the pool was just opening and empty.
Roy took the kids out in the peddle boats at the beach.
Leighton snorkeled for fish and found this urchin:
Then it was time for more football and shell collecting:
We had lunch at the beach snack bar again:
And spent the afternoon at the pool. Leighton played soccer again, too!
Some big clouds started to roll in, but we had seen storms in the distance each afternoon, so we weren't sure if it would make it to us or not.
So Riley snorkeled her way over to the bar to meet Leighton:
And then he saw it was raining:
So we took our drinks and went to meet Roy to pack up our stuff:
By dinner, it was dry and sunny. The rain didn't end up lasting more than 15 minutes. Our dinner was at the gourmet restaurant again.
The kids' evening entertainment was a beach party with a game and then a fire with marshmallows (could our kids have been more excited?!!?).

We want to come with you next time. It looks like so much fun. I still have the shells I collected from our trip so many years ago. And the underwater photos are great.
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun to go all together! The kids would love to see your shell collection to compare to ours!!
