The funny things they say: July 2016 edition

July 2
After carrying lots of groceries up the stairs with me, Leighton asked me and Riley to check to see if he had sweat circles on his t-shirt in his armpits. He was really disappointed when he didn't.

July 2
Today Riley was referring to her ribs as her 'hip tails'.

July 2
Leighton was reading a book about soccer in the car. It said that one of the offenses to result in a yellow card was swearing, and so he asked me what swearing was. I told him it's bad adult words. I giggled a little that he didn't know the term swearing yet.

July 8
Riley was playing Barbie's and said, "There's a Hoedown, come hoe with us!" and then "Come on get out of the car and let's get hoe-ing!"

July 14
Leighton kept referring to the Tin Man in Riley's Wizard of Oz ballet performance as the 'Tin Can Man."

July 14
When the teenage boy in Riley's ballet performance was getting ready before the show and came back into the room with a mustache (that was a prop and painted/glued on in some way) after being gone for no more than about 10 minutes, Leighton asked, "Whoa! Did he just grow that?!"

July 19
Riley was eating a little package of Sour Patch Kids (it was National Sour Candy Day yesterday and the clubhouse here had a little buffet of sour candies for residents), and kept pointing to the words on the package and not pronouncing it correctly. Leighton and I were trying to tell her what they were called, but she settled on, "Power Snatch Kids."

July 24
We put on bug spray, and Riley yelled out, "Try and get me now bugs!"

July 25
The restaurant we were in had flambeed bananas as a dessert option, and Leighton was commenting to Roy how many people were ordering it. Roy agreed and accidentally combined the words 'flambeed' and 'popular' and called it 'flopular'. We all had a good laugh.
