We were having a conversation about mermaids and when she was asked if she thought mermaids were real, she said, "maybe in the 90s."

We drove by a flooded house that Riley always liked near our old house and she was sad to think about them knocking it down since it had a fence around it. She said, "but I have a rememory about that ..." Leighton and I love how she puts a 're' in front of lots of words.

Riley calls manilla paper 'Vanilla Paper'!

Riley was talking about saying thank you to Santa. She looked up to the sky and said it, and then she looked down at the ground and said it. She then asked, "Is Santa up or down?"

Roy was talking with his brother on the phone, and they started talking about the kids being part Zambian. Kevin asked Riley if she knew she was part Zambian, and she answered, "I'm Zambian? Hola, amigo!"

Today Riley was eating her soup and said, "This breast tastes like ..." and at first I thought she meant the turkey breast in it, but she actually just said breast instead of broth!
These are always my favorite posts! Leighton and Riley are so creative. And I am impressed with Riley's use of language in written form, too.
