One Sunday, we went to a park to play some soccer and baseball and for Riley to hang from the monkey bars!
I was teasing Leighton about licking his ice cream cone that he made me hold! Disclaimer .... this was pre full-on Coronavirus worry and maybe now I wouldn't promote sharing food items ;)
While Riley had her soccer practice, Leighton and I were kicking the ball around. Two little siblings came and attacked/played with Leighton. It was pretty funny.
And then another mom on his team came to get him to take him over to his field for his practice. And she arrived in the Art Car they are putting together for the soccer club for the Art Car Parade in April.
Riley's grade was putting on an original performance. She was playing the role of the PE teacher.
Riley's school holds an International Festival every year. It had booths from over 30 countries and loads of food samples and other fun activities and interesting facts about each place.
Leighton had a very busy weekend of two sleepovers and two birthday parties. Riley and I went for some shopping and lunch between our job of chauffeuring him around!
Riley likes to hang out with Roy as the DJ when he BBQs. In the evenings, it can get pretty windy and chilly! She found th BBQ cover makes a good blanket!
Riley had to work on a project for school. She decided she wanted to do a baking project. We baked 11 batches of cupcakes to see what the different ingredients do in the recipe by leaving one out each time. We did her predictions, the baking, and as a family everyone worked together to record some observations. We are at a standstill now wondering when and if it will be completed and presented since we are off school when it was supposed to be done.
I was working with three others to chair the All Art Day at Riley's school this past Friday. We've been doing a lot of work and went to the school to prep on Thursday evening. While we were there, we found out school was canceled on Friday due to worries over Coronavirus. Here was Riley helping set up!
We had out own chalk day of art on Friday at home instead!
And did some more on Saturday, too.
We were supposed to leave for our Spring Break vacation today, but we canceled that. We are now at home for Spring Break, and as of now, the kids are off school the week following as well. It will be a lot of hating out at home and social distancing for a while!
