Grande non-fat ice water

That's what the barista at Starbucks (or bubucksss as Riley says it) called out as Leighton and Riley's orders were ready on Saturday morning.  He also gave the kids stickers.  Leighton already has a love for Starbucks because they always have great gift cards for him to collect (one day I will have to photograph our extensive gift card collection from the past few years to show you!), but the stickers really made it clear that he will be happy to return anytime!

Roy, who is usually in charge of breakfast, had to work on Saturday morning and I couldn't get the three of us ready to leave in time for breakfast before Juana arrived to clean, so it was off to Starbucks for us.  I had just purchased a Living Social deal to use there, so it was the perfect solution.  We sat outside on the little patio enjoying the breeze and our drinks and food.  The kids had their fancy waters and I enjoyed my usual chai frappucino.  You know, the morning equivalent of a margarita since I am a sucked for anything frozen and slushy and sweet that you can sip through a straw!

After we finished up, we ran a few errands and then met Roy for lunch a Chick-fil-A (might as well continue on the fast food trend for the day!).  I had taken the kids there a couple weeks ago with a friend, and Leighton really wanted Roy to see the play area and to get a new book.  Their kids' meals are pretty great because they come with some healthier options (applesauce, milk, fruit cup) and a book instead of a toy.  Leighton is smitten!

After lunch we went swimming at the Y.  Laila, Leighton's best friend from school ended up there at the same and the two of them were incredibly pleased!  It was a little chilly when we got out and the kids were pretending to be little penguins.

    1. I put Riley in a hot shower when we got out yesterday and today. And today I had them both in hoodies - it was 85 degrees outside, but it's chilly coming out of the pool into the air conditioning!
