We all did a bit of hard work today in the spirit of Labor Day ...
Riley did some car washing.
And shopping for necessities like water.
Leighton also did some car washing.
And some needle collecting.
I slaved over a hot stove to bake some peach cupcakes with brown sugar frosting.
(Please note that this frosting had no desire to set very well and was so soft at room temp that I couldn't pipe it fast enough to keep a shape! So, as you can see they are u.g.l.y. The cupcakes were insanely moist and delicious though. I should get a picture of the inside of one for you.)
And a second batch of some pizza bites for Leighton to take in his lunch tomorrow (the first batch we took when we went to friends' on Saturday).
And Roy? He did some hard labor today. Opening a beer!
I kid, I kid. He did more than his fair share. He made crepes for breakfast, entertained the children all day, did the first collection of the needles on the driveway, rubbed off the spots of pitch on the car, and spearheaded the car washing campaign. I just didn't take pictures to prove it!
