A day at the zoo

On Saturday, December 1st, Roy needed to be at work and I needed to be out of the house with the kids while Juana was here cleaning.  Luckily for us, Andy works Saturdays and Kyla was happy to have an outing to do with the kids, so we met up at the zoo.  We had a really fun time wandering around looking at the animals and playing in the Children's Zoo.  We went to story time and the kids were excited to get a zoo button from the man reading the books (and this is also when I got one of my favorite photos of the day - the one where Leighton and Laila and posing for a photo and the girl next to Laila joined in and Riley is looking at her with the "who the heck are you, little girl?" look on her face!).

We then drove to meet Roy for lunch at a restaurant with a patio for noisy, active children.  Although when Laila asked Leighton to get up and dance, he declined because he was too busy devouring his burger (he did get up to dance once he finished eating!).  He ate every bite of his.  And I had to skip the bun on part of mine because it was so filling.  It amazes me how much this kid can eat sometimes.  I am scared for the grocery bills when he's a teenager!
