We are first time home owners!
We closed today on our first home. And we are all so, so, so excited!
We took the kids to have a treat there this afternoon to celebrate (and Roy & I are enjoying a bottle of Veuve Cliquot right now as well! I was pretty sneaky and bought it a couple weeks ago and stashed it in the closet so he wouldn't know!) and put the most important items in the freezer as the first things we moved into the house!
Leighton had to wait the longest to see the house because every time we went to see it, he was at school. He saw it for the first time yesterday and loves it. His room has a giant built in desk area for him to do art, there are an insane number of closets and cupboards to make hide and seek an extra challenge, and he thinks it's pretty great that there are FOUR bathrooms so we can all pee at the same time (well, once Riley decides that using the toilet would be more fun than being stubborn, that is!).
I have some photos I took on a really rushed run around the house a couple weeks ago that I can share. All of the previous (eek! we are the 'current'!!) owners' belongings are in there, but you can get a good feel for the house, I hope. Once we get ourselves moved in and start buying furniture to fill it up, I will share some more updated pictures.
It's a great size and on a huge lot. We're zoned to my favorite of all the schools I toured this fall. We've got a pool, a guest bedroom & bathroom, and a wine cooler. And a palm tree in the front yard! So, when are you coming to visit?!?!?

ReplyDeleteok... that was a super lame comment for such an exciting post. forgive me - it was my first read of the morning - before my coffee intake. what i actually meant with those few words was, "so expletively excited for all of you - and can't think of a more perfect way to celebrate a new year than with champagne AND ice cream in YOUR OWN HOME" i can't wait to come visit you - swim in your pool - and pee in ALL of your bathrooms. i can't wait to 'watch' you guys settle in via your wonderful blog posts!" congrats!
