Happy Day

Roy's Birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and Leighton was very secretive about something he had made for Roy a few days before.  He waited until Riley was locked away in her crib for the night and set it out on the playroom couch for Roy to find the next morning.  I took a peek (and a picture, of course!) before I went to bed in case some little hands moved it before I got a chance.

How sweet is that?!?!

And I think Roy did have a happy day.

It ended with cake and custard, his annual request.  No fancy cake, no icing.  Just plain cake and custard.  But with a candle, of course.  It's not a birthday unless there is a candle, according to the kids!
