Here's a little glimpse of what kept us busy for the rest of the month of January …
We gave the kids one last chance to eat candies off their gingerbread houses that had been sitting around for too long! Leighton asked to recreate the picture Papa did of his sad face when his scotch bottle was empty, lol!!!
Another hang out at Costco - the way the kids were eating their samples while looking at a book on a couch made them seem like they were at home and not a store. I laughed so hard and had to take a picture.
On Martin Luther King Jr day we needed to get outside in the gorgeous sunshine, so we met Dana and the kids at the playground for a while.
We went to Astros FanFest one morning. The sun was shining and it was lovely in the sun, but super chilly in the shade! The kids got to run the bases, watch people in the bullpen, play some games, eat a hot dog, take pictures in the dugout, stand on home plate, pretend to call the bullpen, etc.
But the highlight was when I noticed a few people starting to gather and I heard someone say 'Altuvez'. I stopped in my tracks and sure enough, he was mingling with fans and taking pictures! The lines for the autograph sessions were super long, so it was such a lucky break that we bumped into him like that (and good I am a nosy eavesdropper!!!)! It was a bad lighting situation and I didn't have time to fix the settings on my camera, but at least I got a picture! Leighton is only a head shorter than him!
Therese and I were emailing about the Cian playing in the snow during the NYC blizzard while our kids were in shorts and a t-shirt in front of palm trees here in Houston!
Clyde and Melinda came to visit us for a week. On one afternoon, we drove out to a place we had seen on a Texas TV show where they had GIANT burgers. Roy finished his. Clyde did not :)
And although Clyde and Roy could have been in a meat coma after, it was Riley and Melinda who both fell asleep in the car on the way home!
We also played at a playground for a bit one day. It was a busy week of fun times with them and we are so glad they came.

Sunshine...warmth...tshirts...seems like a different world. And of course you know I am super jealous of your Astros Fan Day experience.
