San Diego Day 4

I usually have our vacation days planned well ahead of time to ensure we see and do (and eat!) as much as possible.  Since we had done the big three things on my list - ferry to Coronado Island, tide pooling, and the zoo - our last day we kept things pretty low key.  Roy left in the morning to the conference, and I packed our suitcases while the kids relaxed.  We took a few photos on the hotel balcony.

The kids and I then walked to see the baseball park by our hotel Leighton wanted to see.

From there, we walked to see the famous Unconditional Surrender Statue.

And then we continued to Seaport Village.  I knew it was a 'touristy' place to go, but it was walkable, by the water, close to Roy's conference center, and had lunch options, gelato, and a carousel.  Seemed like a perfect low-key afternoon!

We came across the 'Headquarters' and tried (MANY times!) to get a picture of these two criminals in the line up, but Leighton kept giggling.  He stopped laughing long enough to get in a jail cell though!

When we arrived back at the hotel, Roy was arriving form the conference.  After a bit of a rest, we walked to Little Italy for dinner and had some delicious soup, pasta, pizza, and wine.  A great ending to the trip!

When we got back to the hotel, we sat on the balcony at one of the fire tables.  We were all tired though, so we didn't stay long and went inside to finish packing and to get to sleep in preparation for our early wake up and flight home the next morning.

  1. You are all fabulous travelers. You do and see (and eat) so many wonderful things. It is great you have the opportunity to go all of these places. Did you ask the artists of the paintings you liked if they could ship something to you?

    1. They both could ship ... one was very reasonably priced but the other was expensive (worth it for the amount of work she put into it). I can find them both online, but it's not the same as buying it there.

  2. I don't know how I missed these posts? I laughed when I saw mom's comment because as I finished reading this, I was ready to open my comment with "you are pro tourists!!" I love your trip reports (:
