We are mourning the end of the Olympics around our house this week, and as a result, we are focusing our efforts on training some future Olympic athletes for the 2024 US Olympic Team.
Leighton has decided he'd like to compete in two events - basketball and running. We haven't begun any formal basketball drills, but running races is a nightly occurrence around here. Maybe hallway circles will be the demonstration sport in 2024 and Leighton (and Riley if she can get her panting under control) can show them how it's done!
Even though Leighton hasn't mentioned he wants to swim in the Olympics, it is where the majority of his training time is being spent. Especially on the 'front' stroke!
And Riley could certainly be groomed to take home a gold in gymnastics, don't you think?
Although, hopping practice could come in handy for trampoline or
hurdles. Maybe she will compete in two sports like her brother.

I am so impressed with Leighton's swimming strokes...he is definitely in training for the Olympics. And Riley will get all the TV attention just by being cute, although Canada did win its only gold medal in trampoline, so there is hope for the future.

He really loves swimming so much. Last summer he had no fear and would just dive right in and now with us living where he can swim so many months of the year, he keeps getting better and better.
