Leighton and Riley hit the red carpet

On Saturday, the Children's Museum of Houston was holding a premiere screening of a new PBSkids show called Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.  Leighton has been seeing the ads for the start of the show all summer and we knew he'd be very excited to see a bit of the show on the big screen!  This was his (and Riley's) first ever time in a theater (and my first time since I was pregnant with Leighton!) - and they even had a red paper 'carpet' down the aisle but I didn't get a photo of them on there to prove it .

There were several activities to accompany the premiere, so we hit up all of those tables and scored some Curious George rulers along with our crowns, masks, finger puppets, and trollies to take home.  As a side note, I forget every.single.time we go here to bring a plastic bag to carry home the plethora of art activities and materials Leighton creates and collects, but I am genius enough to now go straight to the gift shop to ask them for one as soon as we get there!

We then explored some more of the museum.  I say this every time we go (twice this week, even!), but it's worth repeating: This is a fantastic children's museum.  There is so much to do that we can always find new things to explore.  I am so glad we live close enough to it so we can visit often.  And I am also so glad we have a membership or it would cost us a small fortune to pay for all our visits.
