Well, in Houston it happens pretty much year round (and elsewhere too, of course - there is no rule that you can't BBQ in the snow or do the polar bear swims on New Year's Day!), but for the purpose of this post, we are all going to pretend that yesterday was the last day of summer and so we HAD to do as much swimming and BBQing as possible!
In the morning, we were with Douniazed, Luke, Zayne, Soraya, and Aziza to swim and BBQ lunch.
In the afternoon, we were with Josh, Esther, Emily, and Julie to swim and BBQ dinner. They just recently moved here from Boston and Josh has joined Roy's department. Remember my 'wooing' back in the spring? Well, it worked! Yay me! I am sure that there was much more drawing them here than me, but we can pretend about this too, right?!?! Emily is Leighton's age and they really are enjoying playing and swimming together. I've taken the kids there a few times but Julie is always sleeping, but last night she woke up at dinner time and it was SO cute to see Leighton and Riley want to kiss and touch and talk to her while I was holding her. Roy just told us all to get our fill of their baby it was time to head home!!
