Saturday was the Fall Carnival at Leighton's school. We spent a few hours there enjoying the games and activities.
Leighton was pretty keen to start at the 'Messy Zone' to spray some Silly String and smash some confetti eggs.
Riley was not keen on the mess all over Daddy and wanted it 'Off, off!".
I promise she got over it quickly. Roy made me stop taking pictures of the poor child to comfort her, and within moments she was happily smashing eggs and picking up the confetti.
The kids then decorated bags to collect their treats and prizes.
Then it was time for games! Leighton played them and Riley mostly watched. He was such a wonderful big brother that he'd play each game until he won them both prizes. Awwwwwwwwwwww!
The Pre-K class sponsored the Cactus Lollipop/Sucker Pull ... and Leighton and Riley both felt the need to really support that one! We let Riley try the 'pops' ... and she was an instant fan, of course.
After one more round of confetti eggs, we were out of tickets and time on the Riley's-going-to-meltdown-without-a-nap-soon clock, so we called it a day!
We also ate a delicious lunch of grilled meats and pineapple from Churrasco to Go. The food was so delicious and it was such a treat to be at an event like this and have something other than greasy burgers for lunch (not that I don't love me a greasy carnival burger, because I most certainly do!! I still salivate at the thought of the cheeseburgers from the market when we lived in Oxford! So yum!).
Looks like lots of fun...but even more fun to be here!
