AKA, the week Daddy was away!
Monday
I had intentionally made no plans for Monday because I knew that we were going to have a busy day on Sunday and Tuesday and figured we could relax at home and swim. Well, the weather was not cooperative for that, so we had a fun and productive day inside instead. We got some MUCH needed cleaning and organizing done in Leighton's room with all his piles and piles (and piles and piles) of artwork. I also started getting ready for some decor type projects for the kids' rooms.
Tuesday
After some pancakes, we were off to HEB for story time. Since we didn't have to rush out of there for Bellaire Library story time, we lingered and did a little bit of sampling and grocery shopping.
Then it was off to IKEA. It was free kids' meals Tuesday and story time. We didn't last the entire story time, but we were there long enough to hear a few stories (the girl doing it this week was MUCH louder than the woman the last time we were there!), make pirate hats out of newspaper, and get balloon swords. Riley was getting far too tired and we had to make a quick escape before the treasure hunt! She was asleep before we even left the parking lot!
After a brief time at home, we went over to play with Nash and Maeve and Lindsey before dinner.
Wednesday
It had been a few weeks since we were last at the zoo, so the kids were really looking forward to a morning there. Unfortunately, we got a pretty late start (not their fault!) and only had time for the splash area (where we met up with Lindsey and the kids), the carousel, and the elephants. I promised Riley I'd take her to the flamingoes first thing on our next visit.
Then it was Tune Time at the Stella Link library. We got to see Hannah and Naomi there quickly, but Hannah wasn't feeling great, so they didn't stay and we postponed our swim date with them for another time. The three of us had a fun time out in the pool though!
Thursday
We were out of the house by 7:08am! Impressed?!?! Me, too! In all fairness, all I had the kids do was get dressed quickly. No teeth, no hair, no food. So no need to be impressed! We needed 3 items from the grocery store, so I knew we could get back before anyone needed breakfast!
Douniazed, Zayne, and Soraya came over to play and have lunch. It was supposed to be a swimming morning with them, but once again, the rain was coming down hard, so we stayed inside.
Friday
We spent the morning swimming at the Y with Lindsey, Nash, and Maeve.
On the way home we stopped at Lowe's to get what I needed for a project for Riley's room, and then the rest of the afternoon was spent at home doing little projects and waiting for Daddy to get home!

Riley's blue dress is looking more like a top. She has really grown in the 8 months since I made it.
ReplyDeleteI love that you get to play and swim in a variety of locations with a variety of people.
I think she always wore this one as a top, but you're right, it's getting shorter all the time!!
