When I started taking the Wilton cake classes in the spring, I assumed it would be just for fun and to learn some things I could use at home. It turns out that it has led to securing my first customer (an acquaintance of a friend) and that I may begin (slowly) to bake & decorate as more than a hobby. It would be incredibly exciting to build a (small, home-based) business out of this and to be able to make a little money while doing something that I really enjoy so much. My dream would be able to bake things like muffins, scones, granola bars, cookies etc for people wanting healthier and fresher versions than grocery store items for school lunches, work potlucks, holiday cookie gifts, etc and to do cake decorating as well. To me, homemade just tastes SO much better - and making it look pretty is a bonus. For now it's just a dream, but it's fun to think about!
Here are some photos of the cakes and cookies and decorations I've done over the summer. Every time I make something I learn a lot and am able to apply that knowledge of various icings, cake recipes, etc to what I make next. As I write this, I've got a sheet cake cooling so I can practice for my first set of push pops for the same woman who I did cookies for last month. I will keep you posted on how they turn out!

OMG these are all fantastic! You definitely have talent. Word of mouth will get you business. Hannah is good with coming up with catchy names. My only thought is "You Take the Cake" but it's too long.
