I remember saying to Roy last year on Riley's 4th birthday that the kids turning 4 and 7 didn't seem so bad but that 5 and 8 would seem really old. And I was right. We now have a 5 and 8 year old. And 8 rounds up to 10! He's almost into double digits!! Our 'little' boy is getting so tall and heavy and BIG and grown up.
Here are a few photos from his special day:
Opening presents in the (so early and still pitch black) morning before school:
Enjoying his birthday treat at school (I talked him into doing something 'different' instead of cupcakes or cookies like everyone else, and he chose his favorite chocolate mint brownies):
Having his requested apple pie and ice cream for dessert (and for those
of you keeping track, that means I did not make one single cookie,
cupcake, or cake for his birthday this year!). I wasn't able to make him waffles for dinner because our waffle maker is in storage still - and even though we've attempted to find it twice, we can't locate that box yet! He was happy with homemade pizza and pie after soccer practice (and a bath, hence the nakedness!) though!
Happy Birthday, Leighton! Hard to believe you are on the road to NINE now!

happy happy birthday sweet {growing} boy!!!! 8!!!! 8 will be GREAT
ReplyDeleteI don't know where those 8 years have gone until I look at Leighton so grown up. I remember as if it were yesterday getting off the elevator at your apartment in Manhattan and Roy opening the door holding that little bundle. Happy birthday Leighton!
ReplyDeleteI still remember that, too!
