The funny things they say: October 2015 edition

Today I was sitting with my laptop sending Roy things to print for our upcoming trip, and Leighton was telling Roy every time an email came through on the iPad that Leighton was playing on.  Roy starting teasing me about all the things I send to him to get printed, and Riley said, "You know you got married to her.  Give her a chance!"

Leighton was reading a book to me with various facts and was super excited to find one about 'Winter' - the dolphin from The Dolphin Tale movie, and he read that the tail was 'prehistoric' instead of 'prosthetic'!

At school, there is one week a year called Red Ribbon Week that brings drug awareness.  Today while we were at the playground, we think that Leighton got bitten by a spider and so I gave him some Benadryl.  A while later, he got bitten by a fire ant.  I told him it was a good thing I had already given him medication.  He stopped in his tracks, and shockingly said, "You mean you gave me drugs during Red Ribbon Week???"  I had to remind him the difference between taking medications when you need them and when they are 'drugs'!

We were out for dinner, and Leighton was watching TV and laughed because a batter swung and hit the umpire in the penis.  Riley, who was in the mood to sing about everything, keeps coloring her picture, and without even realizing the words she is singing starts singing out, "Penis.  Hits him in the peee-nis.  I.  Love.  Pe-nis-essssss."

This afternoon I took the kids to IHOP for their free scary face pancakes for kids.  Riley was asking me the flavor of the syrups and said, "Is the boysenberry one really poisonous?"

Today leighton was reading me things form his 'weird but true' book and said that the phone number 666-6666 sold for some super large million dollar figure in Qatar.  I asked him if he knew why the number with 6's was 'special' and explained that some people consider the number 666 to be the number of the devil.  Then I asked if he knew what the devil was.  He said he didn't but then I said the opposite of an angel, or evil, etc, etc and he remembered he did know.  He then asked, 'What is the special number of an angel?'

We were driving home after our long night of Halloween fun, and Riley (dressed as Doc McStuffins) fell asleep almost immediately.  Leighton, who was SUPER chatty and in the car all night says, "The Dr is OUT!"
