On Saturday morning, Leighton had his first soccer game of the season. He has moved up to the 8-10 year old team and keeps saying how much he loves that their practices are really hard but really good. It is really impressive how much he's learned already about positions and passing now that he's on the big field (it's SO much bigger than the fields he's always been on before and is SO much running!) with the bigger (well, not necessarily taller than him, but older!) kids. He didn't score any goals, but he had the assist for our team's only goal!

Sunday we headed to Atkinson Farms for our annual strawberry picking adventure. This is our 4th year going there, and the strawberries were FAR better than last year (they were pretty mushy last year due to all the rain). After we had filled a couple buckets, we grabbed a few items from the farm stand to try - this year we chose beets, artichokes, and corn nuts!
And then for the first time, we went to Old Town Spring. We've been to Spring for strawberry picking and other things, but never have we actually gone to Old Town Spring. There was a wine and art festival happening, so we figured this was a great time to check it out! We sampled some food and wines and different flavored lemonades (the jalapeno cucumber was AMAZING!) and listened to some music. It was fun and relaxing! We then wandered the streets of the town, popped into a couple stores, and had lunch at a little cafe (called Ellen's!). I can't believe we hadn't been before! It is such a fun place to go!

And then it was time to go home and get organized for the week ahead!

Everyone is smiling and having a great time no matter where you are or what you are doing.
