Our week in pictures

I got to go into Leighton's class twice this week.  The first time was on Monday morning to help in their science lab.  They were using the lettuce they planted in the garden to make a salad.  The all had jobs to chop and rip and even make homemade croutons and dressing!  Then they had to set the table, complete with table clothes and a plant in the middle!

We missed the Art Car Parade this year, unfortunately.  And I haven't volunteered in Art class at all this year so wasn't a part of this year's car, but Leighton worked on it in class.  And we were really excited to find out that the car won first place!  And not just in the youth division like the last two years, but first overall!!  It is parked at the school right now, so the kids wanted a picture one afternoon.

After a week of sunshine and fun, it was exciting when Arun got off work surprisingly early on Friday night and met me and Rachel and the kids at the playground.  We couldn't resist the idea of sitting somewhere kid friendly and having an adult beverage over dinner, so after Leighton's soccer practice, we got Roy and met them for dinner at Mia's.  The kids were all well behaved (and so excited to see other friends from school also eating there by chance!), and the food was amazing as always.  And I really enjoyed the frozen white pear sangria that I finally tried for the first time.  I will be having that every time we go from now on!

When we went to the granite place today (after Leighton's soccer game - he scored 2 goals and had an assist on another, but I forgot my camera this week!), we were greeted by The Hulk when we walked in the door!
