Santa came! Proof!
And we woke up to two very excited and happy kids!
We had a leisurely gift opening - and even took an intermission for a quick breakfast!
Then there were mimosas (just OJ for her - I promise!) and lunch and relaxing ...
And then it was time to get ready to head to the Gentry's for Christmas dinner. I made some desserts - personalized cookies for all the kids, and then a selection of items for everyone to choose from: mint chocolate layered brownies, coconut sugar cookie bars, butter tarts, lemon bars, shortbread, and peppermint meltaways. I had planned for some pumpkin cream puffs, but they didn't work when I baked them. My first fail with that recipe after many successful times. Boo.
And before we left for our trip, we had to take down our decorations. It's always sad to take them down. I love the lights at night. Here are a couple pictures of them:
What a lovely day! Looks like the kids were very happy with their gifts - I love their expressions (Leighton looks so happy he could cry). And you made butter tarts - yay! So glad that we had a chance to Skype... I still need to send you the video we took while opening our gifts.
ReplyDeleteThe videos in the post didn't work for me - it may just be me, but thought I would mention just in case...
They actually aren't videos - they are 'live' photos that Daly sent me so they are looking like videos on here, I guess. You didn't miss anything!!
DeleteThe butter tarts were good!!!
Looks like a very fun day. And those baked goods...yum! The videos didn't work for me, either.
ReplyDeleteThey are actually just 'live' photos - I didn't realize they would upload looking like videos!
