Daly's birthday

For Daly's 40th birthday, we were invited to a family dinner party at their house.  Eric had asked if I would make a cake and said Daly's favorite flavor is white cake with almond buttercream just like a traditional wedding cake.  I had never eaten it, so I had to do a trial run and take it to them to taste.  During my conversations with her, she mentioned she also likes hazelnut and lemon.  So, I made THREE cakes for the party so people could have a choice!  1. White cake with almond buttercream, 2. hazelnut cake with hazelnut filling and white chocolate buttercream, and 3. lemon cake with lemon curd filling and lemon buttercream.  I didn't do anything overly complicated (or careful!) for decorating them, but it didn't matter for this - it was all about the flavors!

We had a really fun evening!
