My friend Naomi asked if I would make the cupcakes for Hannah's birthday party with friends and a cake for her family celebration. The theme: Cinderella. I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but I have always been a Cinderella fan. I made my parents and sister wait and wait and wait to see her in the parade at Disney World when I was 5. So, it goes without saying that I was pretty excited to make this cake.
Naomi and I shared a Pinterest board for pinning ideas, and then we sat down with Hannah one morning to make some decisions on specifics. We all liked a cake that was like the bottom of Cinderella's dress. And we all liked the tiaras on top. And the sparkles and glitter on the toppers of some of the cupcakes. I used all these elements to make my creation and looked at loads of pictures of Cinderella dresses for inspiration. I was pretty nervous about the royal icing tiara, but it worked on the first try - I had another one ready to go just in case, but I didn't need it!
I was SO excited when I finished the dress late into the night that I almost woke up Roy to show him. Almost. But I didn't. I did email a picture to a couple people in the hopes of catching someone awake to share in my excitement though. Luckily Kate is a night owl like me, and my Mom and sister are in totally different time zones so I caught my Mom before bed and my sister was up having her morning coffee!

"Cinderelly Cinderelly, all I hear is Cinderelly." Fabulous collection of delectable treats. How can people even dare to cut into such beautiful art?
