The first was for our little friend Maddie and it was at the Children's Museum. We hadn't been for a while and had never been for a birthday party, so of course the kids had a great time.
The tiara and wand that Riley got at the party have stayed with her almost every day since … at the grocery store, restaurants, to get Leighton from school, the car wash. Everywhere. Luckily Ben and Jen had some extras they've given us to have in case the favorite purple one gets lost or ruined!
One afternoon after getting Leighton from school we went to the playground to celebrate Fiona turning 2. It was a gorgeous day (not as common this December as last, unfortunately) and all of the parents and kids enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, Riley got bitten by some bug while we were there and after an hour started getting itchy. Really itchy. By the time we got her home, she was breaking out in hived and was getting red and swollen in various places on her body. It was so uncomfortable to watch, but luckily some Benadryl took care of it relatively quickly. I always have it with me in my bag, but since I was walking with the kids and Roy was home, I didn't have my bag that day. I will be sure to not leave home without it again!
