April 2015 Summary

Riley's class had a fun Easter egg hunt and celebration (I made cookies!).

Riley and Leighton were pretty excited to meet and touch Baby Rosemary.

The kids had a good time at Luke's bday party painting pottery.

Avani's bday party was a super fun time!  Yummy food, sno cone truck, giant bouncy slide, swimming, and an insane amount of treats and candy and desserts!

The kids started Easter day with their 'baskets' and then did a hunt for eggs outside.

LOOK at the defined muscles in the Leighton's calves!!!

The kids were pretty excited to see the Art Car ready to go!  We worked on the front top portion together in class with our little group, so it was fun to be able to see it up high on the car like that!

Riley decided she wanted to start Lunch Bunch at school.  This was her first day! She was so excited to use her backpack and lunch bag!

Leighton's soccer season was in full swing.  He was playing for two teams in different leagues.

The kids were super excited to be able to take Daddy to the Art Car Parade with us this year.  We met the Mathiesen family at 'our spot' from last year!

It is so amazing to listen to Leighton playing the violin and to see how much he has learned since September.

In Leighton's art class, the kids were sketching different 'specimens' (snakes, bugs, etc) and had to write the word 'specimen' off the board.  Riley drew herself a line and copied it too, and this was her scorpion!

We took the cover off the pool and it was a nasty green swamp from algae .... but it took Roy less than a week to have it sparkling!  And I got all my spring planting done!

One night after the kids were in bed there was a huge hail storm so Roy went out to collect some to put in the freezer to show them!

1st day swimming in the pool this season!

We went strawberry picking for the 4th time at the same place we go every year!  Riley decided to dress like a strawberry for the occasion!  This year there were not great berries.  FAR too much rain this spring.

One soccer league coming to the end of the season - team picture day!

Riley and I got into a routine of walking to school a lot this spring.  She always dresses herself FYI!

And she drew this picture of 2 people getting married under an arch.  I love seeing her drawing developing so much detail.

We had a really great time at Zoobilee again this year!
