June 2015 Summary

These two pictures were from the last day of May, but I forgot them in the May Summary ;)

Pauline took all the kids for a play date at one of her friends' house one day:

Mikkel helped Roy with his sore back!

June was a whirlwind of a month.  Roy and I were so busy with appointments, inspections, meetings, and flood 'stuff'.  There were still lots of fun times for the kids though ...

One day Riley went with a friend to play at the school and Leighton came with us to the house while we had people packing it up and helping us out.  We set him up watching a movie and eating his lunch in a lawn chair :)

While our cars were with the mechanics, we were supposed to get rental cars.  Unfortunately there was a giant shortage of rental cars due to everyone needing one so we were on a waiting list.  Thankfully Devin and Jenny let us use their van for a few days, and then Roy finally went to the office and ended up getting a big truck because it was all they had.  The kids thought it was pretty fun to drive in and liked checking out the back of truck

The kids had fun splashing in the yard one afternoon:

Just like last summer, Pauline and I took the kids to a cheap movie and popcorn.  Here is our giant crew walking in.

Sarah was so sweet to invite us, Pauline & the kids, and Michelle & her girls all over for pizza and play time.  It was so fun!

Christina was so sweet to take the kids for a play date while Roy and I had to get work done at the house.

Riley really had loved Morgan's birthday party!

Pauline and I took the kids swimming at the Y one evening.  We packed a picnic dinner.  They kids were SO good and had so much fun!

Mikkel was away in London one of the weeks we were staying with them.  He was so incredibly sweet to bring back our kids a tshirt.  They LOVE them!

On the way home from my birthday lunch at Grimaldi's.  Little Dr girl fell fast asleep!

We took the kids for donuts one morning.

Every night the kids would fall asleep and when we came to bed, we'd find them in the craziest positions!  We started taking pictures and turning on lights and using flashes to capture them!

Pauline, Sydney, and I took the kids bowling one afternoon:

At Leighton's basketball game:

Kim and Chris were amazing in so many ways with helping out with house demo, their Shopvac for the cars, lending us their fans and tools, and taking the kids for an afternoon and dinner play date while we finished moving into the apartment.

Here is the garage apartment where we stayed at Mikkel and Pauline's after I had cleaned it all and we were moving out.

I found this weird snake/worm thing on our front door one day after it was raining again!  I thought I'd add it to our Texas 'critter' collection that I have posted about in the past!

And here is the kids' bedroom in our new apartment.  I love looking at their room (and in our whole apartment) and seeing all the furniture and bedding that was gifted to us.  Again, we are so lucky to have the friends we do.

The pool at the apartment building.

First dinner in our apartment.  We didn't have a table yet, so we used one of the night stands from Anthea that was still protected with packing shrink wrap and used it for the kids!  And we didn't have any pots and pans at this time, so dinner was courtesy of friends our whole first week here.

One night while drinking wine with Pauline and Mikkel, Roy agreed to be on the parent relay swim team (for the swim team that Leighton didn't end up doing, but our other friends' kids did) final meet.  Roy, Mikkel, and Devin were linked up with another mom from the swim club.  Here are the boys after their race.  The kids had SO much fun watching them and cheering them on!

A unicorn party!!

Riley was so excited to hold baby Rosemary.

And Leighton was just as excited to hold her hand and then help carry her in the car seat.

I was so excited to see the plants at the house doing well.  Here is a yummy orange tomato!  And my favorite hibiscus blooming.
