And the kids wanted some pictures in the little 'window'!
We packed up the car and started our drive down to Seattle.
The kids loved seeing the flags made of flowers on the Canadian and US sides at the border.
They used some of the things in their activity 'envelopes' that I made them and watched some movies.
We were excited to meet up with Greg, Renee, Winter & Ronin. We hadn't seen them since our visit with them after Christmas 2 years ago at Greg's parents' ranch in Eustace (and we stayed in Gun Barrel City!). Here is the post I did about that - fun to see how much the kids have grown and changed! I had wanted to do something touristy with the kids but as usual was undecided and thinking of keeping parking simple and the fact that we only had the afternoon ... we decided to just meet at their house in West Seattle and go from there. So glad Renee suggested that! In all my dozens of times in Seattle, I don't think I've ever been to West Seattle!
In the end, we decided on burgers for lunch down at Alki Beach, then a water taxi ride over to Seattle, some shopping at Ye Old Curiosity Shoppe, and ice cream before taking the Water Taxi back. It was a really relaxed and fun afternoon/early evening! It was so fun to see the kids playing together. Winter & Leighton are only a day apart and Riley & Ronin are only a couple months apart.
| The girl in the white cardigan was named LEIGHTON! |
We then went to check into our hotel and have some dinner. Riley said she wanted spaghetti, so we went to the Old Spaghetti Factory. We had never eaten there with the kids but decided to give it a try!
The next morning we returned the rental car and got on our plane home.
