June 2016 Summer Fun

Other than our trip to New Orleans, there were some more fun times in the month of June while the kids enjoyed their first month of summer vacation.

Buying new shoes for Riley ... they HAD to be blue.  Everything in her world these days is blue, blue, blue!

Playing in the rain with Kai and Koli.  When the thunder and lightning started, we had to convince them to come inside.  Riley and Kai whipped up a batch of popcorn.

Taking a picture to send to Daddy while he was away in The Netherlands.

Morgan's birthday party.

An afternoon at the JCC pool with Jonathon.  Riley took her first ever swim test and did so well! It meant she could go on the waterslide and diving board and swim without an adult.

Library activities with Rachel and the kids.

HEB story time.

An evening swim and pizza dinner with Pauline and Rachel and their kiddos.

Riley had fun at Sloane's birthday party.  She even got to meet one of THE Aflac ducks!!

We had a swimming and movie playdate with Avani and Ariel and then went to the car wash, which is always a fun time since they have popcorn there!

We had a big goodbye play date with lots of friends to say goodbye to Zach, Rory, and Leah.  Both Riley and Leighton were so sad and in tears when we had to say goodbye.  We will really miss them! I got to see Rachel a bunch more over the next week, but was the last time we got to see the kids.

That afternoon we also went bowling with Dana and the kids and then to a Capoeira program at the library.

Swimming.  Lots and lots of swimming.

Cheers to smoothies!

One of Roy's cousin's husband and his brother and nephew (did you follow all that?!?!) were in Houston from South Africa for business, so we got to see them one evening.  Roy and I went for dinner with him and then after soccer camp, we took the kids for ice cream.  They were friends of Roy's family when he lived in Zambia, and tt was the first time Roy had seen them in almost 30 years!

The kids did a soccer camp, which they LOVED!  It was a Dynamo/Dash camp, and on the last day they even got to meet a player from each team!  It was great that they were able to do a camp at the same time in the same place.  They were separated by age group and with the same coach and group  each time.

  1. Blue for Riley??? What happened to pink? I'm so glad the soccer camp was fun for both of the kids.
