Earlier this month, Leighton was reading something and then asked me what a seizure was. I did my best to explain it to him, and he said it sounded kind of like what he had when I left to go have Riley at the hospital. He says he remembers the feeling of crying so hard and not being able to breathe or see and it being like a bunch of graffiti flashing before his eyes. Poor little guy! He still can remember this 5.5 years later and he wasn't even 3 yet at the time!

I can't remember how it came up, but we were talking about songs or were singing something and Riley told me that she remembered me singing her Mary Had a Little Lamb beside her crib when she would fall asleep. That was so long ago! It was 4 years ago during the months before she turned 2 at the first house we rented when we moved to Houston!

The kids and I were playing a Spanish Bingo game that Leighton brought home from school, and when Riley got the (anatomically correct) heart, she said, "It's a heart with a brain inside of it?!?!" I don't think she had seen a picture of a real heart before!

We were watching a kids choice music awards show on TV and Riley asked why some people were wearing jackets. Leighton told her is was just so they'd look cool.
Oh it makes me sad to think of Leighton remembering such a traumatic experience so many years ago. But the end result was positive...a sweet little baby sister whom he loves so much.
