Spring Break 2018: Road Trip Day 3

We tried to get going relatively early again and got the car packed up after breakfast.  We drove about  an hour to Pawhuska, OK so I could visit The Pioneer Woman's Mercantile.  I had read her blog and made her recipes long before she started her show on the Food Network, so I was interested in seeing her store and restaurant.  It was a bonus that we were visiting on a week when her lodge was open for visitors to see where she films the show, so we planned to head there after lunch as well.  I had read that the line to eat at The Mercantile was often really long, so we knew we might eat elsewhere.  After shopping, we tried to grab something from the bakery upstairs, but that line was slow and long too.  There were a couple things I would have liked to taste, but not badly enough to wait in long lines while we were all hungry for lunch!

After driving on the dusty ranch roads, we stopped for a car wash and root beer floats at A&W (but I ordered wrong and we didn't get them in frosty mugs!).

We drove back down past OKC to Pauls Valley (a really small town) for the night.  Riley had been begging to swim at each hotel so far but we hadn't had time, so I took her while Leighton and Roy watched more basketball in the room!

We walked to a restaurant just down from the hotel for dinner and watched some more basketball there and back at the room.  Between March Madness and the NBA, there wasn't a lack of basketball to watch on this trip!
