Spring Break 2018: Road Trip Day 4

We started out our day at Bedre Fine Chocolates.  The factory is only in production Monday through Friday, so we didn't get to see anything happening, but we got some tastes!  We also went next door to the Chickasaw Welcome Center, where they had beautiful handcrafted items and art to look at (and by surprise, a penny press machine!).

We saw some signs for Fried Pies as we were driving and were convinced to stop and taste what they were!  Roy and I had savory and the kids had sweet.  The place was so busy!

We passed these wind turbines when it was dark the on our drive up, and Riley spotted them somehow in the distance.  She was so excited to get a better look at the same ones (although we had seen others on other parts of our drive) on our way home!

Our last destination was Texas Tulips for some tulip picking.  Roy and I had seen a little clip about this place on a TV show a couple years ago, and I had been wanting to get there to see it ever since!  I was so happy that we got a nice day and had the time to stop on this trip.  The colors and varieties were so beautiful.

Not too far from the tulips was a BBQ place I had found in Frisco, TX.  There was a bit of a line to get in, but it was perfect because it gave us time to decide what to order!  The food was really good - and the sauce was delicious.  I am always happy to find a sauce I love!  They had banana cream pie and peach cobbler and an ice cream machine all on self-serve for dessert ... our crew was very happy!

It was time to get in the car for the rest of the drive home.  The kids each made a dandelion wish first ... I wonder if they wished for more days of Spring Break like I was?!?!

We should have been home around 7, but there was very heavy traffic for a couple hours plus a massive thunder storm for a couple of hours.  So we didn't get home til close to 9:30!  It was a late night, but worth it for the fun day and trip we had.
