2018 Destin, FL road trip - Day 2

We got up in the morning and had breakfast at the hotel before setting off for the drive to New Orleans.  We had thought about doing a tour of a rice mill in New Iberia, but in the end didn't do it.  We got to New Orleans too early to check into the hotel, so we parked the car and walked to go for lunch.  

When we were in New Orleans in May, we ate at a restaurant and Leighton loved the server's Yankees hat - so we bought him one a few weeks later.  We were excited to see the same server working (and wearing the hat!) on this visit!

After lunch, we walked (me with my drink!) for some browsing in stores and beignets at Cafe du Monde (yay for no line up!).

We checked into the hotel and took the kids to the rooftop pool.  We were staying at the hotel where Roy and I stayed on our first trip to New Orleans in 2006!

The kids (and we) were so excited for the PB&J and hot chocolate and chocolate milk they serve from 10-11pm each evening.
