Sometimes (okay, often!) we have weekends that are jam packed with activities and events. It feels like it is nonstop go-go-go action, and a few weeks ago, we had a weekend that was exactly like that. it started Thursday and went straight through until Monday!
On Thursday afternoon, Riley and I went to volunteer in Leighton's art class. We all got to go outside to see the van that will be the school's contribution to the Art Car Parade in May. All the kids got to climb through and honk the horn!
From there, we went over to Pauline's to make viking hats for Leighton, Joshua, and Ms Thompson for their Olympics Field Day at school the next day. Their class was 'Denmark' (we decided it wasn't because Joshua is Ms Thompson's favorite student but because Mikkel is her favorite Dad that she chose Denmark, ha ha!) and Pauline thought up the fun idea to make the hats. She did a fantastic job creating the base. I worked hard on the horns and braids ;) She also colored little flag stickers for every kid in the class.
Friday was the big Field Day at school. It started with an international Olympics parade and then activities by grade. At the end all of the kids got a snow cone, and we had hot dogs in the classroom. Such a fun day!
And then after school, we were off to the zoo for our third Zoobilee evening (2012 and 2013 - it's amazing how much the kids have grown!). We got their early to find easy parking and then had a picnic dinner, did some activities, and got our ice cream!
The next morning we had Leighton's soccer game.
After soccer, we went home for me to do some baking and for lunch. Then I took the kids to have a play date at Jonas' house. Then it was back home for more cupcake work for me! And after the kids were in be, we had friends come over for some wine and snacks. And more wine. And in the midst of that I did more cupcake work.
Sunday morning we were off to Ava's birthday party, and I supplied the 4 dozen Frozen cupcakes! I was really happy with how they turned out and was even happier to be part of Ava's special day :) There were a few bumps in the road while making them … and I will be posting about that in a blog post on rebeccacakesandbakes.com within the next couple of weeks.
And to finish it all off, we had another birthday party after school on Monday. We got there and started playing with the kites, and then poor Emilia got a deep cut on her head and had to be rushed off to the ER for stitches. We stayed with the other party guests and had the pizza that was delivered and kept Addie busy until Erin could come back for her and all the party 'stuff'. Poor Emilia will now forever have a scar on her forehead to remind her of her 4th birthday.

oooh need that pic of leighton and riley (the one where leighton looks too grown up and riley is making kissy face) - seeing these pics makes me even more excited to see them this summer!!
