Zoobilee

We had so much fun at Zoobilee last year and were excited when it came around again this year.

There were no dinosaurs to see this year (that space is currently under construction with what we think might be a LEGO installation - we have seen these at the Philadelphia Zoo and Bronx Zoo before and love them!), but there were stamps to collect in passports, hula hooping, sack races, bouncy slides, and ice cream sundaes.  And we rode the carousel!  For some reason, Leighton had it in his mind he didn't like them ... even after me showing him photos and videos of him go on the one at the Bronx Zoo and New Orleans Zoo and Sesame Place about a millions times!  But, he was feeling super brave and wanted to try it.  And on our way out, the kids got a prize for completing their passports - a new coloring book WITH stickers!  I loooove having a prize waiting for us at the exit so the kids are excited to go that way :)

My new FAVORITE picture of the two kids together!

Oh, and note to self, make sure we remember the awesome plan of me coming early with the kids to find parking next year.  Best decision ever!  Well, except that it was almost 90 degrees and it meant Roy had to walk over from work!  But, still - best decision ever.  Last year there were soooooo many cars and noooooo parking spots left when we got there.

The kids and I just wandered in the park for a bit and played at the playground while we waited to meet Roy in time for Zoobilee to start.

And the kids stayed relatively dry after checking out the splash park. We had brought the kids here when we visited Houston in June '11 but haven't been back since.

Look how little they were last time!
