Last week Leighton commented to Roy that he has only picked him up from school once this year and that he'd like him to get him sometime. So, Roy cleared his schedule on Thursday afternoon (what a great Daddy!) so he could get Leighton from school and take him somewhere for some Daddy and Leighton time.
That left me with little-miss-stand-at-the-door-with-her-shoes-on-well-before-it's-time-to-leave-to-get-her-brother-because-she-is-so-excited. Hmmmm. How does one tell her that she doesn't get to pick her brother up? AND that it's because Daddy is. In Daddy's car. Hmmmm. That's a tough one. She loooooves her brother. And her Daddy. And her Daddy's car. So, knowing all of this would likely result in one seriously sad/grumpy/angry little thing!
So, I emailed Lindsey and asked if she wanted to get together. I figured a play date would make Riley happy. And I just kind of avoided the whole conversation of why we weren't getting Leighton and where he was. And, oddly, she never asked or mentioned it. Very odd. Kids just *know* these things, I guess.
Anyway, we went and played outside at Lindsey & Charlie's with them and the kids and Lindsey's mom. The hose came out and some fun splashing and spraying occurred!
Riley started with her hair up and clothes on. The pants came off first. Then the shirt. Then the soaking wet and falling off underwear. And then her hair HAD to come down to be bouncy and curly. Oh, my. She's a wild one! The funniest part was that Nash wasn't paying much attention when Riley decided to take off her underwear and let her hair loose. And when he noticed, he said "Hey!" and started laughing. We all assumed he was giggling about her cute little naked bum. Nope! Because then he pointed and asked what happened to her hair. TOTALLY oblivious to her having no clothes on!
For some odd reason, I didn't bring my camera with me, so I only have these few photos from my phone. Lindsey had her camera out though and got some super cute pictures. Maybe I will need to steal some to add in here!!
