February 2015 Summary

Riley was invited to a birthday party and a little salon where they got their hair and make up and nails done for a fashion show!  This was her first time with nail polish and make up and she couldn't get enough glitter in her hair!

Leighton came along with us because Roy was out of town.  I showed him how to write 'hello' on a calculator and he was tickled to find two fishes stuck together!

At Sayf & Laith's birthdya party, Leighton was brave enough to have some snakes on his shoulders!

Riley was not interested in the snakes at all, but the snake cupcakes were ok by her!

We had some crazy hot days!  See all that dust in my car?  Cleaning my car is never a priority!

The kids worked on Valentine's Day cards for their classmates.

They had crazy hair day at school!

Riley chose a fantastic outfit (complete with handbag) for a walk up to get empty shoe boxes for making Valentine's holders.

We went to a Rice University basketball game with a group of other families from the school.  The kids were allowed to go onto the court for high 5s when the teams came onto the court, but Riley wasn't brave enough to go with Leighton.

The game went super late into two overtimes and many people left.  Our kids were still rockin though and even made it onto the jumbo screen with their dancing!  They made it on again after I caught this video for an even better and longer time, but I missed catching it on video, unfortunately.

We went for a lovely celebratory play date at a playground to celebrate baby Max's successful battle with cancer.  I wrote a little more about it here on my baking blog and showed the cupcakes and toppers I made for the occasion.

Poor Riley got sick with a fever.  Roy and I were in the kitchen having lunch and found her curled up on the couch sleeping.  I always love getting the chance to take pictures of the kids sleeping.

The kids got to do more work on the Art Car:

Roy and I went to the school auction and had our first ever teenage babysitter for the kids!  At first we didn't think we'd be able to go since Lindsey wasn't available for babysitting and Roy was away in Galveston for a retreat, but I was on the planning committee and was making 9 dozen cookies for it and really wanted to go, so we figured it out!
