This one is for you, Shannon!

We met Shannon and Jake at a new moms event in Manhattan when Jake and Leighton were 5.5/6 months old (we were actually there with Rachel and Ella - Rachel and I met at an expectant moms event and were due with Ella and Leighton on the same day - Rachel is a HUGE Lilly Pulitzer fan, so she will like this post too!).  We spent many days roaming the streets of the Upper East Side running errands, pushing the boys in the swings at the playground, or relaxing in their apartment while the boys played.

Shannon and her husband Howie had a daughter, Jolie, 9 months before Riley was born, and they have been incredibly generous in passing along an amazing amount of her clothing for Riley.  Riley's stylish and expansive wardrobe is all thanks to them! 

Last summer we went with Shannon, Howie, Jake, and Jolie to their club in Long Island for lunch and to swim.  This is what Jolie was wearing:

And look how little Riley was in comparison at the time (I think in the first one, she's saying, "Jolie, I really like your dress.  Where did you get it?  Do you think they make it in my size?" and in the second one she's thinking, "Maybe if I eat this food really fast I will grow big like Jolie and I can fit in that dress, too)!

And here she is in the same dress and bathing suit the other day.

And, by the way, I don't have to guess what she's thinking or saying in these photos.  I heard her loud and   clear.  'Mama.  wimming.  wimming.  Mama.  Maaaa-meeeee.  Maaaa-meeee. wimming."  She was not interested at all (can you tell in that last picture?!?!) in my wanting to take photos for Shannon.  She wanted to go swimming and was not happy I was making her wait while her brother was already in the pool!
