Happy (American) Thanksgiving

My friend, Naomi, and her family invited us to share Thanksgiving lunch with them today (there were 31 of us!).

When I asked what I could bring, Naomi requested the mint chocolate chip cake that I made for Leighton's birthday (different recipes here and here).  I know that she loves chocolate and that her favorite ice cream is peanut butter chocolate, so I decided to try a peanut butter chocolate cake as well.  Here they are.  Mmmm.

And here are a few photos from the day.

  1. Two more spectacular looking cakes (and I am sure the taste matched the appearance). We had store bought ice cream for dessert...I said to myself, "Peppermint ice cream??? That is usually only available in the store at holiday time. Oh right, it is holiday time."
