Pumpkin patch

Last weekend, we walked up the road to a pumpkin patch that a church was doing as a fundraiser.  It wasn't exactly a rustic farm, but there were pumpkins and it was actually (finally!) a day that was cool enough for boots long sleeves (unless you are pulling 80lbs of kid and another who knows how many lbs of pumpkin!), so it felt like a fall day!  My mom and I both took along our cameras and got some cute photos of the kids (and even me, too!)

We got some 'warty' pumpkins that Leighton really liked and some small cute ones the kids had fun choosing and coloring on at home.  My mom and I found a couple that looked suitable for carving and had great intentions of carving that afternoon.  It didn't happen.  And Roy refused to let me attempt it on my own (likely a good move on his part!) and so with work & school schedules, we didn't ever get them carved in time for Halloween. Next year!  We did make little faces for them though with black construction paper.  Check them out in the Halloween post that is coming soon!

  1. Now I feel bad that we didn't get the pumpkins carved before we left. But we had a great time picking them out at the Pumpkin Patch. I love the warty ones too.
