Via Colori

Last Saturday, we went downtown to the Via Colori 2012 street painting festival. Artists used chalk and pastels to color some beautiful pictures onto the street, including a block-long skyline of Houston.  We got there when it started on Saturday morning, and next year I'd plan to attend on Sunday morning so we could see more of the pieces as they were getting closer to completion.  Leighton enjoyed seeing the artists starting out their squares though and going back an hour later to check on their progress.

There were several arts and crafts activities for the kids, and Leighton and Riley loved doing them all.

There was some tasty looking food, but we only sampled a funnel cake as a treat.
