A visit to Leighton's new school
Yesterday morning, Leighton's new school was holding a short science event for incoming Kindergarten students and parents. There were some fun science stations set up for the kids with 5th graders running them, some breakfast yummies, and a talk by the head science teacher. And door prizes. Can't forget those! Leighton skipped up to claim his. I wish I had my video camera out for that! And I wish I had my real camera there, but I only had my phone, which sometimes takes pretty decent pics, but these ones aren't great ... you get the idea though and can just hear Riley squealing, "Yayton touch worm!!!!"

Soooo glad Leighton had a chance to try out his new school. I thought about the school when I went to a youth choir concert the other night. Danika and some other kids from New Denver participate in a choir that is based in Nelson, and they do a concert in Silverton every spring. There was a lot of joyful singing.
ReplyDeleteI will be interested to see what musical direction Leighton (and Riley in a few years, too!) chooses at the school.
