When we got them out, Riley wanted to pee on the toilet and was successful! Whoooooot! She asked to put on underwear, so she finally got to open the package and put on the pink dots. She was SO excited.
She was snuggled with Leighton on the couch and I reminded her to tell me if she had to go again (I remember from gearing up for this process with Leighton that it is important to remind them to tell you and not to keep asking them because kids have that natural reflex to just answer NO!) and she said she did. And then after that she came to me a few more times while we were getting dinner ready to tell me, "More pee tummin', Mommy" and we'd rush off to the bathroom. She did so great! She stayed in her cute little underwear all the way until bath time. Including with Daddy out at the BBQ, where I found her helping him out by holding his beer!
Before bed she decided she'd wear the underwear with the presents on them tomorrow! And she wants to go buy the ones we saw with pink monkeys we saw somewhere last week.
Yippee yippee yippee! One thing about stubborn children (or stubborn of any age) is that once they decide to do something, they do it and no foolin' around. Give that big girl a big hug and kiss from us and tell her we are soooooo excited that the next time we visit: no more diapers!
ReplyDeleteWill hope for the no foolin' around!!
Deleteyay riley!!! and yay roy - drinking good ol' canadian!
ReplyDeleteWell, the novelty wore off pretty quick, so no 'yay riley' for a while, I don't think!
DeleteI went to buy beer when friends were coming over the other night and called Roy with the options. I couldn't believe he chose Canadian, lol. So not his type of beer usually!
